About Me: Hi, I am a sweet as can be senior gal named Ruffles! I am tiny for a basset and could probably gain a few pounds. When I came to BBR I had not seen a vet in quite some time. Now as a girl this is a little embarrassing. But my toenails were so long it was hard for me to walk. If that wasn?t enough, I had bad breath that could clear a room. The doctor fixed up my nails right away. But found my mouth was?so very badly infected?that some of my teeth were already gone and the ones left were in bad shape.?I had dental surgery and needed to have the rest of my teeth removed. That was 33 extractions in 4 hours of surgery. I?m still adjusting to not having teeth but I feel so much better. I can even eat dry food if the kibbles are small. I enjoy short walks and get around pretty well for my age, even on stairs. Silly things like thunder do not scare me, but I don?t like it so much when my people leave.? For this reason I prefer to be crated, and I even like to sleep in there when I get tired, so don?t forget to leave the door open for me! I would like a family that can be home a lot, or can take me too, since I ride so nicely in the car.
Although Ruffles must have been terrible pain she has never growled or resisted anyone working with her. Her tail has always wagged and she always shows affection. She has won the hearts of everyone at the vet office. They all need to come say hello when she is in for a visit.
